An excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate ready to step into a more strategic leadership role within a well regarded and long established mid-tier firm in the CBD.

Joining the Corporate & Commercial team, you will work autonomously on mid-market M&A transactions end-to-end, taking ownership of client relationships while mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

This role would suit a commercially confident Senior Associate seeking greater autonomy and leadership, or someone returning to the market and looking for a flexible yet high-calibre environment.

The firm is open to structuring this role either full-time or approximately 30 hours per week, depending on experience and preference.


The role:
  • Lead private M&A (buy-side and sell-side)
  • Manage due diligence and transaction workstreams
  • Draft and negotiate
  • Advise on legal and commercial risk 
  • Supervise and effectively leverage junior lawyers
  • Engage directly with business owners and senior decision-makers
The requirements:
  • 8+ PQE in corporate/commercial law
  • Strong private M&A experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading transactions independently
  • Strong drafting discipline
  • Commercially mature and confident negotiator
  • Direct client relationship experience
  • Proven ability to supervise juniors effectively
  • Must be comfortable integrating AI and legal technology into transactional delivery in a structured, risk-aware way.
